Elizabeth Collins, wildlife artist and photographer, draws inspiration from many areas of the environment and nature in general.
Elizabeth, born and educated in Adelaide, South Australia, travelled widely in remote areas of Australia from a young age. She was fortunate to experience the wonders of Kakadu, the Kimberleys, Fraser Island and spent a great deal of time travelling the deserts of northern South Australia, which set the stage for a love affair with the world around her.
Elizabeth now lives in Quorn, in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia and gathers inspiration from the beautiful ranges around her as well as still travelling to many other areas of Australia. Elizabeth works in pastel, watercolour, colour pencil and acrylic, but prefers the subtlety of pastel and watercolour. Nature portraits have featured in her latest work and putting life into her subjects is what she strives to achieve. With photography, she studies the personality and character of the subject and the light and atmosphere of the landscape.
In 2008 Elizabeth had her first solo exhibition in Roxby Downs, South Australia, which was a great success and since then she has participated in many group exhibitions in the local area. Elizabeth has been a member of the Painters of the Flinders Ranges since 2013 and also has works on display in the Flinders Ranges Visitor Information Centre in Quorn.
