Hello, I am an Adelaide artist working from my home studio in Pasadena.
I have a lasting impression from when I was a child of camping in the Flinders Ranges. We bush camped on the outskirts of Wilpena Pound in amongst the cyprus trees and rocky creek beds. I can remember being in awe of the rugged shapes of the ranges and the varied colour of the vegetation. Later as an adult enjoying many more camping holidays in all areas north and south.
Making marks on paper has always been my passion. I began realistic oil painting in my teenage years then learnt architectural drawing while studying Interior Design. My varied art background has included visual merchandising and floristry as well as attending classes and workshops from local, interstate and international artists in a variety of media.
To improve my observation skills I go to life drawing, portrait drawing and paint en plein air.
In my own painting practice I paint with watercolour and draw with the pure colour of soft pastels. Using my own reference photos from extensive travel throughout Australia, I put the ideas together to produce an impressionistic piece of art.
I tutor a watercolour class, also giving demonstrations and workshops for various art groups in watercolour and pastel.
My artwork has won awards and is held in private collections both in Australia and overseas.
